About Us
More Than Just Coffee
Julia’s passion
In 2005, Julia came to Tanzania as a KOICA volunteer, teaching architectural design for two years. She was captivated by the genuine spirit of the Tanzanian people. Pondering how she could offer more widespread assistance, she found her answer not in architectural skills, which are difficult for the general public to access, but in coffee technical education. She then started a coffee business in Korea, successfully building a coffee company with a roasting factory and eight cafe branches. Becoming a true coffee expert with barista, roaster, and Q-grader qualifications, she returned to her second home, Moshi, Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, to begin coffee education.

Minmo’s Journey
Driven by a dream to help developing countries, Minmo, who majored in electrical engineering, reflected on how technology could practically contribute to people’s lives during his one-year experience as a professor in Mongolia. He met Julia at an NGO working in Africa, and they married. Together, they prepared for the coffee business, determined to contribute to the Tanzanian coffee industry. He envisions a society where everyone thrives together through coffee, by raising the living standards of their employees, engaging in community projects with neighbors, and using coffee as a means to achieve this. Furthermore, with an interest in sustainable energy, he has directly installed and operates solar power as the primary energy source for their current cafe, with plans to promote related technology within the local community in the future.

My role as Manager at SSOH COFFEE has been a fantastic opportunity to put my skills to the test. I’m learning so much more than what I ever covered in my studies, especially when it comes to hands-on leadership and managing a team. I’m really excited about the future and look forward to playing a key role in the company’s continued growth.

I’ve worked at many different local restaurants and companies, but SSOH COFFEE is a whole new experience. The need to work hard is the same, but here I’m learning how to be more effective and to think about the future. Now, I’m excited for what’s ahead.

For a long time after middle school, I was stuck in simple jobs, and I really wanted something different for myself. That’s why coming to SSOH COFFEE felt like a chance for a new beginning. I’m honestly surprised at how much I’ve been able to grow here, finding new talents I never knew I had. It’s definitely not easy to learn all these new things, but I love the challenge because it means I’m actively changing and improving.

I got my first job at SSOH COFFEE on a friend’s recommendation. I’ve had a great time so far, learning all the ins and outs of the coffee business and picking up a lot of new skills. It’s a completely different experience from being a student, and I really enjoy the challenge of learning and growing here. I’m looking forward to taking on more responsibility and continuing to develop my abilities in this new field.

After graduating high school, I worked a variety of jobs and then came to SSOH COFFEE thanks to a friend’s introduction. It’s been challenging to change who I am to do this new work, but I can feel myself growing because of it. I want to keep finding new skills and discovering new things about myself in different areas in the future.
